Material Insights: PS prices rise despite oversupply, low demand

Polystyrene resin prices, following benzene feedstock moves, rose in September even as there's a global oversupply for the resin and low demand growth throughout the year. Senior Reporter Frank Esposito talks about the changes and outlook for that resin in this week's Material Insights. Frank also explains the possible ramifications of Braskem's move to halt a polypropylene production line at its Marcus Hook, Pa., site.
